What an exciting day for the ducklings and Earth Class. I suggested to the children that the ducklings may like to have a run around but the children were worried they might run away or get lost. They work together to build a large ‘play pen’ outside and then the ducklings had a run around in the fresh air. The ducklings ran to the edges and waited for the children to stroke them, they are such a friendly bunch!

Later the children were talking about teaching the ducks to swim. We gave them the opportunity to go into water. The ducklings aren’t swimming yet but they can run really fast in water and enjoyed bobbing their head up and down and cleaning their feathers.

Finally all of the children had a cuddle with the ducklings.
