25th February 2026
Dear Parents,
Welcome back I hope you all had a lovely break. I am looking forward to the lighter days as we move through Spring 2. This half term will be another busy one so please do look out for text and email reminders.
This half term we welcome Mrs Kelly Middleton to the office team. Mrs Middleton we be covering the Office Manager role while we recruit.
Term Dates 2026-27
Please find below the term dates for next academic year. These are now on the school website to help you plan ahead. Please can I remind parents that holidays will not be authorised during term time and that holidays of 5 days plus will incur a fine from the LA.

Governors
We still currently have a vacancy for a parent governor. This needs to be a parent connected to school so any of our parents or grandparents are eligible. If you or anyone you know is interested, please contact Mrs Conway for more information.
Ramadan
As the holy month of Ramadan has started, we would like to give our best wishes to all families observing this important time. To ensure we can best support our pupils during this period, we ask parents and carers to inform us if their child will be fasting. This will allow us to make necessary arrangements to support them while at school.
For our younger pupils, those below Year 5, we advise against fasting during school hours. We understand that fasting is a significant aspect of Ramadan, but we also want to ensure the health and energy levels of our younger children are maintained for their learning and development.
World Book Day
World Book Day this year is on Thursday 5th March 2026. This year school will have a theme of Sharing a Story. We will be wearing pyjamas (our favourite attire for reading) on Thursday 5th March – participation in PJ Day is encouraged, but not essential for those who do not feel comfortable. Please ensure children still have appropriate footwear and coats to enable them to play out.
There will also be a Theatre Company performing in school on Wednesday 4th March and our Polar Bears will be visiting St Matthew’s School for an author workshop as part of our celebrations.
