Reception Newsletter
We have settled into school well! This week we have been learning about Autumn - we learned that Autumn is the time that it gets cold and darker, the leaves turn brown and fall from the trees. We investigated Autumn items and made some leaf rubbings and pretended to make some 'Autumn Soup'
We read Owl babies and learned some new words "swoop" "flap" "twig" and "branch." See if your child can show you the actions for these words.
In phonics we learned the sounds 's' 'a' 't' and practiced segmenting and blending, some of us practiced our listening skills - you could practice tuning into sounds at home - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1m4h79JZso
In maths we learned to subitise (say how many without counting) numbers 1, 2, and 3.
We also learned a lot as we played! Next week we will be making bread and reading the Little Red Hen.
